Sorry, guys, this post is an exemption to my rule of staying away from politics. This blog deals with literature. Yet, I cannot stand idle and abandon our kids as they lie down in front of the White House fighting for their lives. The gravity of the situation demands it.  I realize my words will only reach a few people, but every little grain of sand counts including yours. Shame on the politicians who received contributions from the NRA however small the amount might have been. I voted for Marco Rubio. Never again!! Unless he returns the money and commits to reasonable gun laws. Assault rifles are offensive weapons, built to kill scores of citizens. They should be prohibited. Your right ends where it impinges on mine–the safety of my children and grandchildren at school.
